Monks Eleigh Bygones Collectors Club.

Who we are

Welcome to the Monks Eleigh Bygones Collectors Club.

The club was formed by Paul Goodchild to represent the needs and views of a group of vintage machinery and bygones enthusiasts who found the existing vintage clubs in the area did not have quite the right outlook for our particular interests.

Paul is still the Chairman and very much the dynamo of the club which now has an active membership of about 100. The emphasis is on the word "active" and it is the key to our success.

What we do

Regular club meetings are held at Long Melford Royal British Legion Social Club on the first Friday of every month. This is a chance for members to catch up with club events and news.

Guest speakers and events such as film shows are regular features of the monthly club meetings and always prove popular.

From time to time the club organises social events/evenings which usually have a theme, this may be 40's  or maybe a 50's and 60's Rock and Roll night, what ever it may be the enthusiasm of the members guarantees a great time is had by all.

The highlight of our calendar is the Annual Vintage Rally which has gone from strength to strength in recent years, not only do we enjoy our selves we entertain and educate the public but most important of all we ensure that the profit from the rally is directed towards a deserving local charity. The 2009 rally supported The Parkinsons Disease Society and a considerable sum of money will be donated to them.
